The unnamed 26-year-old dad-of-two who works as a tractor driver on a local construction site in Cixi County in east China’s Zhejiang Province, saw red after his wife moved into her father’s house taking the four and six-year-old children with her.
The woman’s father who has been named as Li told local media they had been watching telly when they heard a huge bang as his seething son-in-law slammed his tractor into the side of the house.
Li said: “There were eleven of us in the house in total and I had no idea what was going on at first but I immediately got everyone out as the ceiling and walls began collapsing.
“When we got outside we saw him going mental in his tractor smashing into the walls with his digger and ripping the place apart.
“My daughter married him a few years ago but I only met him recently.
“She came to me with the children saying she was unhappy and I’m not bloody surprised.
“The man’s a maniac.”
The tractor driver was arrested and is now being held for questioning.
A police spokesman said the family had now been put into temporary accommodation.
Li said: “It is a ver regrettable situation even more so since I didn’t own the house and was renting it from a landlord.
“I’m not sure where we stand with our deposit now.”
